The nation’s leading head and neck cancer organizations are joining in partnership to host the Head and Neck Cancer Survivorship Symposium July 18, 2020, from 10am – 4pm in Chicago, IL.
The Symposium, presented by the American Head and Neck Society and Head and Neck Cancer Alliance, along with the collaborative support of other organizations, including the Society for People with Oral, Head and Neck Cancer, ThyCa, Get Voicing, Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, and David’s Dream & Believe Foundation, will provide the opportunity for survivors and care partners to learn how to manage post-treatment side effects, live optimally and have the unique opportunity to gather together with other survivors to share similar experiences.
There is no registration fee to attend and travel funds will be available for some attendees (details to come at a later date).
Symposium topics will include dental care, survivorship care plans, exercise, nutrition, advocating for oneself, and more. Attendees will also be invited to the opening day address of the American Head & Neck Society’s meeting on Sunday, July 19th, featuring speaker, Grant Achatz, a renowned chef and survivor of stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma.

Take it from me: cancer prevention is always preferable to cancer treatment. As I’ve transitioned from cancer researcher to cancer patient to cancer survivor, I vow to make every effort to keep others from joining my club.Stewart Lyman, Ph.D. Cancer Researcher and Biotechnology Consultant Survivor of HPV-attributed Tonsil Cancer
